The women’s volleyball team had a busy schedule last weekend as they hosted both Grace College and Huntington University. Grace, who is currently receiving votes for the top 25, proved to be a skilled opponent as they captured a 5th set victory over the Lady Pilots. Nevertheless, Bethel continued to reveal their mental toughness as they turned around and beat the Foresters 3-0. Despite the long hard-fought battle, the Pilots fell to the Lancers by a score of 21-25, 26-24, 19-25, 24-26, and 12-15. Callie Hartman had a huge night for Bethel as she chipped in an impressive 15 kills, while Ashley Wagner contributed 10. On the defensive side, Amanda Troyer continued to come through with 18 digs. However, it was all Lady Pilots on Saturday night as Bethel quickly put away Huntington 25-21, 25-14, and 25-15. Lindsay Marks had an extraordinary night with a whopping 23 assists. Emily Henry continued to show her leadership with 9 kills and the Lady Pilots had excellent defense as well with Katie Kurth and Amanda Troyer digging 7 balls each. The Lady Pilots will be on the road this Wednesday as they play Saint Francis. They will then return home on Friday to play Goshen and host Spring Arbor on Saturday.
