Despite clinching the two seed a week ago, the Lady Pilots dropped their final regular season game at Marian University 65-50. The Lady Pilots traveled to Marian on Friday in order to stay the night in Indianapolis and keep their legs fresh for the Saturday 3 p.m. start. However, things did not go as planned for Bethel as the Lady Knights quickly claimed a 17-4 lead. Things continued to go in Marian’s favor for the rest of the first half as they led 33-24 at the break. The Lady Pilots made several attempts to cut the lead in the second half, but the hosting Lady Knights would have none of it as they continued to pull away. Despite closing the gap to 41-32 with 14 minutes remaining, Marian went on to claim a 15 point victory. Georgia Boisse and Kristin Hicks were the only Lady Pilots to score in double-figures, scoring 13 and 10 respectively. Chrissy Hicks also chipped in six points off of two three point shots off the bench. As the number two overall seed in the MCC, Bethel will host the number seven seeded Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. If they advance to the quarterfinals they will face the winner of Huntington and Marian on Thursday.
