 -  -  56

MISHAWAKA–– The weather changing means the holiday season is coming around the corner. To get in the Christmas spirit, there are many music groups to listen to, including Pentatonix.

The a capella group consists of Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee. Hoying, Grassi and Maldonado went to high school together and were a part of the original group. They started their career by winning NBC’s The Sing-Off.

Since 2011 when the band began, the group has sold more than 10,000 albums worldwide and released nine studio albums, six extended plays (EPs), eighteen singles and fifty music videos. On Oct. 29, they released their sixth Christmas album.

The Christmas album, titled “Evergreen,” is a compilation of 14 songs, a blend of mostly Christmas songs and some others with a holiday flair. Some of the tracks include “Home for the Holidays,” “Wonderful Christmastime,” “The Prayer,” “I Just Called To Say I Love You” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.”

The group tours around the world, making known their bubbly pop covers and originals. They will be touring for this album beginning Dec. 18 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

Pentatonix’s albums are found on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and most other music streaming channels.
