MISHAWAKA- On Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 8 to 10 p.m. in Sufficient Grounds, Student Council is hosting a Luau for all students. This event is planned by the Underclassmen Student Council members, this year’s group includes Sydney Anderson, Shaelyn Mulder, Shara Poelstra with advising by Lori Stutzman, Ed. D., Assistant Professor of Business.
The luau, which is a tradition on Bethel’s campus, is an opportunity for students to build community together through participating in a fun event. At the event there will be strawberry and piña colada smoothies for free from Sufficient Grounds, although it will be closing for normal activities at 7 p.m. that night in order to have the event.
The Student Council asks that students come dressed in a hawaiian shirt. They will also be passing out leis at the event. There will be three rounds of games during the event, such as limbo, hula hoop contests and egg toss. There will also be corn hole outside if the weather permits. When games are not being played, there will be a dance floor open to students.
Executive Student Council President, Zachary Kern will be the MC for the event, and Secretary, Haley Miller will be the DJ.
There will also be prizes for the winners of the games. Prizes include hammocks, spike ball sets, a flamingo pool floatie and a can-jam set.
Sydney Anderson, Underclassmen Student Council member, said, “Students should come out and have a fun time and a break from studying.”
