Vol­ley­ball Kicks Off for In­tra­mu­rals

MISHAWAKA—On Thurs­day, Nov. 10, the vol­ley­ball in­tra­mural started on cam­pus. It will con­tinue through the end of the se­mes­ter. Ac­cord­ing to in­tra­mural in­tern Luis Mon­tiel, they will still be ac­cept­ing signups un­til Mon­day, Nov. 14. Your team must in­clude at least two girls and can­not in­clude any var­sity vol­ley­ball play­ers. This sea­son of in­tra­mu­rals will con­clude be­fore fi­nals.  

As far as the sports that they have done ear­lier this se­mes­ter, beach vol­ley­ball and 5-on-5 bas­ket­ball, there was a good turnout for both. For beach vol­ley­ball, six­teen teams of six com­peted, and for bas­ket­ball, there were fif­teen teams of ap­prox­i­mately ten play­ers per team. 

For next se­mes­ter, the plan is to play both pick­le­ball and fut­sal. Ac­cord­ing to Mon­tiel, they are go­ing to have both an open and com­pet­i­tive league to al­low for more peo­ple to par­tic­i­pate with­out hav­ing to feel the pres­sure of com­pet­ing.
