MISHAWAKA—On Jan. 25, the Bethel men’s basketball team hosted the Spring Arbor Cougars for their blackout game. This included a t-shirt giveaway in which students received a “Pack the Wack” shirt. The Pilots won the game 112-82 improving to 15-7 on the season and 7-5 in the league.
The two teams traded buckets for a majority of the first half before they went on a 10-2 run and went into halftime leading 55-48. The Pilots did not look back once the second half started, outscoring the Cougars 57-34 in the second half.
Drew Lutz took command of the Pilot offense scoring thirty-two points and assisting on nine opportunities with zero turnovers. Chikara Tanaka, Nathan Aerts, and Tanguy Touze also helped score a combined fifty-six points. The Pilots shot 62% from the field on the night while also shooting over 50% from the 3-point line.
