Bethel Hosts Black­out Game Ver­sus Spring Ar­bor

MISHAWAKA—On Jan. 25, the Bethel men’s bas­ket­ball team hosted the Spring Ar­bor Cougars for their black­out game. This in­cluded a t-shirt give­away in which stu­dents re­ceived a “Pack the Wack” shirt. The Pi­lots won the game 112-82 im­prov­ing to 15-7 on the sea­son and 7-5 in the league. 

The two teams traded buck­ets for a ma­jor­ity of the first half be­fore they went on a 10-2 run and went into half­time lead­ing 55-48. The Pi­lots did not look back once the sec­ond half started, outscor­ing the Cougars 57-34 in the sec­ond half.  

Drew Lutz took com­mand of the Pi­lot of­fense scor­ing thirty-two points and as­sist­ing on nine op­por­tu­ni­ties with zero turnovers. Chikara Tanaka, Nathan Aerts, and Tan­guy Touze also helped score a com­bined fifty-six points. The Pi­lots shot 62% from the field on the night while also shoot­ing over 50% from the 3-point line.
