Swim Team Earns Vic­to­ries on Se­nior Night

ELKHART– On Jan. 21, the Bethel swim­ming and div­ing team rec­og­nized se­nior night while com­pet­ing against Olivet Col­lege and Man­ches­ter Uni­ver­sity. The team cel­e­brated eight se­niors. 

The Pi­lots swept the day with wins over both of their op­po­nents. The men’s team won 227 to 58 against Olivet and 224 to 65 against Man­ches­ter. The wom­en’s team won 179 to 75 against Olivet and 202 to 50 against Man­ches­ter. 

These games were the team’s last match-up be­fore the cham­pi­onship. The Pi­lots will be head­ing to Fre­mont, Neb., to com­pete with the KCAC Cham­pi­onship from Feb. 2-4  

Here are some high­lights from the team’s sea­son so far. Nick Bohm (2022 NAIA Na­tional Cham­pion) set a school record for the 1 Me­ter Dive (11 Dives) event with a score of 409.55. Emma Mc­Na­mara recorded a time of 1:24.55 in the 100 Yard Breast­stroke. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Emma Mc­Clel­land recorded a time of 2:10.04. Manel Casado was able to record a time of 50.30 in the 100 Yard Freestyle and a time of 2:05.66 in the 200 Yard IM. Fi­nally, Joe Sheets recorded a time of 5:12.98 for the 500 Yard Freestyle.
