Cubs’ and Indians’ World Series hopes hang by a thread tonight

 -  -  71

cubsgraphic On the brink of elimination, yet again, the Chicago Cubs look to extend their season, while the Indians look to finally bring a championship to the city of Cleveland. Tonight marks game six of the 2016 World Series and looks to provide the same level of excitement that the rest of the series has kindled in worldwide viewers. Coming off of a high-intensity performance led by probable National League MVP candidate Kris Bryant’s solo home run, the Cubs secured their second win of the series in game five. The Cubs were able to overlook the potential comeback by the Indians late in game five, thanks to the Cubs’ lefty flamethrower, Aroldis Chapman. Chapman was able to provide 2.2 innings of relief work and provide countless 100+ mph pitches en route to the victory and force a game six. The Indians come into game six by returning back to their home venue of Progressive Field tonight. The Indians have selected to have Josh Tomlin be their starting pitcher tonight, as he will be pitching on only three days of rest. The Cubs will counter with 2015 National League Cy Young Award winner, Jake Arrieta. A key note for tonight most definitely resides in the designated hitter (DH) spot in both lineups. Look for the impact of Cubs’ DH, Kyle Schwarber to be tonight’s impact performer as he will look to spark the second straight win for the Cubs. As for the home team, look for the potential of a strong offensive performance being led by players like Carlos Santana (DH) and Francisco Lindor (short stop) to make the difference. A season is on the line for the Cubs while the Indians look to temper Chicago’s comeback flames. Will we get a game seven or will the Cubs have to wait ‘til next year yet again? Game six of the World Series starts tonight at 8 p.m. on FOX.
