Nutshell

NUTSHELL: What is love?

 -  -  200

MISHAWAKA–Valentine’s Day just passed by about a week ago, so we at the Beacon asked members of the Bethel community how they would define “love.”

“Love is forgiveness, love is acceptance . . . treating other people the way they want to be treated,” Professor Tara Holmes said.

“Love is a beautiful gift that we get through marriage,” John Samarich said.

“Love is caring for another without question,” Imanol Chavez said. “But not only are you caring about the person personality-wise, but just for who they are, who they are and what their actions are.”

“Love is choosing to grow and compromise with another person to become one unit and not two separate people,” Erika Toops said.

“I’d say love is a choice, it's not a feeling,” Caleb Rosa said. “It’s something that has to be worked for. It may start as a feeling, but it needs to be a commitment.”

“Love is like a box of chocolates, its scrumdidliumptious,” Carlos Jimenez said.

“It’s an emotion you feel when you care about someone,” Keith Pasqualone III said.

“Love is seeking to pursue someone as Christ would pursue them,” Ellery Sinclaire said.

“Love is the feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you see someone and are like, 'I would do anything for this person,’” Carson Jaques said.
